The Angioslide PROTEUS™ device is the first stand-alone device to combine angioplasty with embolic capture and containment capabilities during lower limb procedures.

As capturing embolic debris is a growing need in lower limb angioplasty procedures, PROTEUS offers an effective and easy to use technology that enables you to capture embolic particles in every angioplasty procedure and yet have the same device perform balloon angioplasties. 

How does it work?
In essence, PROTEUS has the same characteristics as a standard angioplasty balloon. However, when the handle is pulled back, the balloon section of the PROTEUS is folded inwards, generating natural negative pressure. This pressure drives embolic debris towards the device lumen. PROTEUS captures the debris and is then retrieved through the sheath.
